Meet Sarah

PERSONAL

As a massage therapist since 2006, I have worked with hundreds of clients. Through these experiences, I have learned that massage therapy is much more than just a relaxing experience at a spa. I see soft tissue as a deeply complex, neurologically driven part of who you are, not merely a physical element. With this knowledge, I work with you, rather than on you, to create change that works. This is the basis of my approach.

Throughout my life, I have been active in various physical activities, such as bicycling, snowboarding, boxing, running, hiking, and weightlifting. These experiences, coupled with my pursuit of knowledge about the body, have given me a deep understanding of movement on both physical and mental levels.

I consider myself fortunate to have found a profession that I love, and I look forward to helping others find comfort in their bodies every day!

EDUCATIONAL

I earned my BFA in Graphic Design from UW–Stout in 2001, and a few years later my path led me into massage therapy. In 2006, I began my training at the Soma Institute for Clinical Massage Therapy, the only school in the U.S. that offers a diploma in Clinical Massage Therapy, and I’m proud to be a graduate of their program.

As a Clinical Massage Therapist, I design individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique needs. My approach draws from a wide range of techniques, including relaxation and deep tissue work, myofascial release, hydrotherapy, cupping, trigger point therapy, lymphatic drainage, Ashiatsu barefoot massage, and neuro-kinetic based therapy. Having worked in diverse environments from clinical settings to luxury spas, I’ve learned to combine clinical effectiveness with the finesse and attention to detail from years in luxury service that create a truly elevated experience.

In 2009, I graduated as Valedictorian from Soma’s Master’s Program, which gave me an exceptional foundation for my work in the field. Since then, I’ve continued to expand my knowledge, train in new modalities, and refine the skills I already have. Learning is an ongoing journey for me, and my list of future studies is always growing—so stay tuned for what’s next!

PROFESSIONAL

As a massage therapist, I’ve had the privilege of working in a wide range of settings from massage clinics and chiropractor offices to day spas, Forbes 5-star luxury hotel spas, and private practice. Each environment has given me new tools, techniques, and perspectives, fueling my ongoing growth in this field.

Over the years, I’ve worked with clients across nearly every age group and skill level from high school athletes to individuals in their 90s. My clients include weekend warriors, professional athletes in the MLB, NHL, and NFL, ballet dancers from the New York City Ballet, amateur and professional boxers, marathoners, triathletes, and musicians from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. I’ve supported clients at every stage of training and recovery: pre-event, during competition, post-event, and through surgical or injury rehabilitation. I am a regular volunteer at the Chicago Marathon assisting runners in the medical tent to help them as they near or reach the finish line.

My years in high end service have helped me hone my attention to detail as well as how to provide a truly relaxing and restorative session. Massage doesn’t have to be reserved for when something hurts; sometimes the best reason is simply to feel better in your body.

My personal style is to bring a touch of relaxation to my clinical sessions and a touch of clinical work to my relaxation sessions. I don’t believe massage should be about “no pain no gain.” Life already gives us enough stress, why would I add more through a painful massage? Instead, I work with your body, not against it, guiding your muscles and nervous system to release in a way that feels safe and sustainable. When the body feels cared for, real progress can happen.

Whether your goal is peak performance, injury recovery, or simply feeling good in your body, I bring the same dedication to helping you move, perform, and live at your best.
